"We live with fear but today, we also found hope.” – A local resident, Uri

On 19th May, amidst the tension of recent shelling, a powerful awareness drive unfolded in Uri. It wasn’t just about information, it was about connection, care, and community strength.

A mental health team from IMHANS, Kashmir spoke to hearts heavy with anxiety, helping residents understand that fear is valid, but so is healing.

SACPPE team members guided families on identifying unexploded shells and shared life-saving safety protocols.

Supported by UNICEF and led on the ground by SHO Uri, SDRF, and Civil Defence, the event became more than a program.

With SDPO Uri Tariq Ahmad’s leadership, we move forward village by village, ensuring every resident feels informed, prepared, and supported.

This is just the beginning. We’ll keep showing up, village by village, with care, support, and the promise of safety.
