Corporate Diagnostic Labs in J&K Operated by Unskilled Workers: A Grave Risk to Public Health.
Srinagar 3rd February: Javid Ahmad Social and political Activist said in a press release that the health sector in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in Kashmir, is deteriorating at an alarming rate due to government negligence. One of the most distressing issues is the unchecked operation of private diagnostic laboratories by unskilled and unqualified individuals, putting public health at serious risk.
Javid Ahmad said that It is highly unfortunate that private labs, which should be pillars of accuracy and reliability in medical diagnostics, are being run by untrained boys who lack the necessary qualifications and expertise. This negligence not only compromises the quality of healthcare but also endangers patients’ lives by leading to incorrect diagnoses, improper treatments, and fatal medical errors.
Javid Ahmad further said, The government’s failure to regulate these diagnostic centers and ensure strict compliance with medical standards is a clear indication of its apathy toward public health. Despite multiple reports and complaints, no serious measures have been taken to address this critical issue. The people of J&K deserve a robust healthcare system with trained professionals, well-equipped facilities, and strict monitoring of private diagnostic centers.
Javid Ahmad demands immediate intervention from the authorities to:
1. Conduct thorough inspections of all private diagnostic labs in J&K.
2. Shut down all illegally operated labs run by unqualified individuals.
3. Enforce strict guidelines for the recruitment of skilled and certified professionals in the healthcare sector.
4. Hold the concerned officials accountable for their negligence in regulating private labs.
Healthcare is a fundamental right, and the people of Jammu & Kashmir must not suffer due to the government’s indifference. The authorities must wake up before this crisis turns into a full-blown public health disaster.
