Your kid has been prescribed glasses. These are the 10 things Parents need to know 👇🏻

- The eyes of your kids are not WEAK. It’s just that the measurements of the eye don’t add up and hence the need of an additional spectacle lens.

- The power of the lens may increase, decrease or stay constant. It’s not in the hands of the doctor/parents.

- Second opinions are ok. Don’t go for 10s of Opinions. Every doctor might give u a slightly different spectacle power. And that will confuse you.

- Stick to the most accessible doctor/primary doctor. Most likely he/she is treating on the right lines.

- No doctor would commit that the glasses are needed only for a short time. Most likely they need to be used for the foreseeable future.

- Wearing glasses will not make your kid dependent on glasses. Comfort and clear vision would make him happy, thats why he/she would stick to it

- After the kid crosses 21 years of Age mark, he/she can go for a refractive surgery to get rid of the glasses.

- Regular 6 monthly check ups are indispensable.

- The kids did not need glasses because they had too much screen time. It’s the genetics.

- Lastly, treat them as normal. Let them play sports. Let them do everything they should. Let them live their life to the fullest. Don’t be a hurdle and don’t put limitations on their capabilities.
