JKPC General Secretary & President All J&K Shia Association Molvi Imran Ansari Welcomes Srinagar Airport Expansion, Calls for Priority to Local Youth & Resources

Srinagar, 25th Feb 26: The General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) and President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association, Molvi Imran Ansari, today welcomed the approval of the major expansion of Srinagar International Airport, terming it a historic and game-changing decision for Kashmir’s future.

In a tweet, Molvi Imran Ansari expressed gratitude to the Central Government and the Hon’ble Prime Minister for approving the project, describing it as a transformative step for enhancing Kashmir’s connectivity and accelerating economic growth.

“Thankful to the Central Government and Hon’ble Prime Minister for approving the major expansion of Srinagar International Airport — a truly game-changing step for Kashmir’s growth and connectivity. This project can transform tourism, trade and employment across the Valley,” he tweeted.

He added that it is vital that local technical manpower, local contractors, and locally available raw material are given priority during construction and future operations so that the maximum benefit reaches Kashmiri youth.

Molvi Imran Ansari further said that the airport’s interiors should reflect the cultural soul of Kashmir. “Airport interiors should showcase Kashmir’s handicrafts such as papier-mâché, carpets, walnut wood furniture and handloom products, giving a strong push to our artisan economy,” he stated.

Highlighting the need for long-term skill development, he urged the establishment of a dedicated local training institute to prepare youth for airport-related employment. “A specialised institute must be set up to skill youth for civil works, ground handling, maintenance, hospitality, retail and security, with 2–3 year diploma and apprenticeship programmes,” he said.

He also advocated for exploring direct Umrah and Ziyarat flights from Srinagar in the future, saying this would significantly boost religious tourism and create additional livelihood opportunities.

“Let this expansion become not just an infrastructure upgrade, but a pathway to dignity, jobs and opportunity for the people of Kashmir,” Molvi Imran Ansari said.

Commemorating the Birth of Imam-e-Zamana (A.S.): Ensuring Dignified Observance of Shab-e-Barat in Kashmir

Srinagar, 30th Jan 26: On the auspicious occasion of 15th Shabaan, marking the birth anniversary of Imam Muhammad Mehdi (A.S.), a day of immense spiritual significance for the Muslims especially the Shia Muslim community, JKPC General Secretary and President, All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association, Molvi Imran Ansari, has urged the civil administration to ensure comprehensive arrangements for Shab-e-Barat, to be observed on the night of 3rd February across Kashmir.

Molvi Imran Ansari emphasized that 15th Shabaan is a night of prayers, supplication, and reflection, during which thousands of devotees visit graveyards and Imambaras to offer Fatiha, special prayers, and seek divine mercy. Keeping this in view, he appealed to the J&K administration to ensure proper sanitation, grass cutting, drain de-silting, dog catching, and repair of street lights in and around all major graveyards and Imambaras well in advance.

He further urged the authorities to provide uninterrupted electricity supply, particularly to major graveyards and Imambaras, so that devotees do not face inconvenience during night-long prayers. Adequate parking facilities, proper traffic management, and close coordination between traffic police and district police were also stressed to ensure smooth movement and safety of the public.

Molvi Ansari also appealed for strict action against encroachments by shopkeepers near graveyards, and requested that no pushcarts or vendors be allowed in the immediate vicinity of these religious sites on the night of Shab-e-Barat, to maintain sanctity and avoid congestion.

On this spiritually significant night, he also urged the people to offer special prayers for peace and justice for the oppressed people of Palestine , for the safety and well-being of Iran and revered Islamic scholars Ayatullah Ali Khamenei and Ayatullah Ali al-Sistani, and for the unity, protection, and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah.

Molvi Imran Ansari expressed hope that the administration will take timely steps to facilitate the faithful and uphold the religious sentiments associated with this sacred occasion.

JKPC General Secretary & AJKSA President Molvi Imran Ansari Greets Muslim Ummah on Shab-e-Miraj, Calls for Unity and Prayers for Peace

Srinagar, 16th Jan 26: General Secretary JKPC and President All JK Shia Association, Molvi Imran Ansari, today extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Miraj.

Highlighting the spiritual significance of the night, Molvi Imran Ansari said Shab-e-Miraj commemorates the divine journey of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), a moment that reaffirmed faith, patience, and the centrality of Salat. He referred to the Quranic verse: “Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from Masjid-al-Haram to Masjid-al-Aqsa” (Surah Al-Isra 17:1), reminding believers that Miraj is a message of hope, discipline, and nearness to Allah.

He emphasized that the night calls upon believers to follow the path of Ahl-e-Bait (AS) upholding justice, moral courage, and steadfastness in times of trial.

Molvi Imran Ansari offered special prayers for peace, dignity, and protection of the Muslim Ummah, particularly the oppressed people of Palestine. He also prayed for the safety and well-being of the people of Iran and sought long life and good health for Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei and Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani, acknowledging their guidance and wisdom for the Ummah.

Concluding his message, he called for unity, brotherhood, and collective prayer among Muslims, stressing that in these challenging times, solidarity and faith remain the strongest response to injustice and discord.

Molvi Imran Ansari Responds to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s Tweet, Questions Moral Framing of ‘No Choice’ Narrative

Srinagar | 26 December 25: JK Peoples Conference (JKPC) General Secretary and All J&K Shia Association (AJKSA) President, Molvi Imran Ansari, on Thursday issued a sharp response to a recent tweet by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, questioning the religious and moral justification being offered for recent decisions taken under pressure.

Reacting to the narrative of “Hobson’s choice” referenced in the tweet, Molvi Imran Ansari said such framing was misleading and incompatible with Islamic principles. “Islam does not recognise helplessness presented as destiny. It recognises niyyah (intention),” he stated.

He added that for nearly 22 years, authority was exercised from the mimbar, leading prayers, guiding people, and shaping the thinking of an entire generation. “People followed. Many suffered. And now, when pressure reaches you personally, suddenly there was ‘no choice’?” he remarked.

Molvi Imran Ansari further observed that pressure does not create fear, guilt does. “A man firm on truth does not panic over a social media handle. Fear emerges when one’s conscience is unsettled,” he said.

Referring directly to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s explanation that the step was taken to ‘stay connected to the people’, Molvi Imran Ansari questioned the moral accountability owed to those who were led for two decades. “What about those who were led into a dead end for years? What answer is ready for them not on X—but on the Day of Judgment?” he asked.

He emphasized that between fear of the state and fear of Allah (SWT), there is always a choice. “Some of us made ours openly long ago. India is our country, and the electoral fight is political and constitutional about governance, not slogans delivered from the mimbar,” he stated.

While terming the decision announced through the tweet as welcome in itself, Molvi Imran Ansari cautioned against presenting fear as moral philosophy. “Do not dress fear as faith,” he said, adding, “Because on Qiyamah, there is no Hobson’s choice, only hisab.”

JKPC General Secretary & AJKSA President Molvi Imran Ansari Raises Alarm Over Growing Harassment of Kashmiris Across India

Srinagar, 25 December 2025: JK Peoples Conference (JKPC) General Secretary and All J&K Students Association (AJKSA) President, Molvi Imran Ansari, on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the increasing incidents of harassment, assault, and public humiliation faced by Kashmiris living in different parts of India.

In a tweet, Ansari said that Kashmiris across India are increasingly becoming targets not only of fringe elements on the streets, but also of a hostile environment fuelled by toxic political language amplified by a few individuals sitting comfortably in Kashmir.

“What hurts the most is that some Kashmiri leaders and self-styled social media warriors actively contribute to this atmosphere for their own political benefit. They shout, provoke, and perform outrage online, fully aware that the consequences are borne by ordinary Kashmiris—students, traders, workers, and families—who are simply trying to live with dignity,” he said.

He added that these voices suffer from selective amnesia and conveniently forget their own past. “When her father was in power, how many Kashmiris were put behind bars? How many special operations were conducted? How many young eyes were blinded? The list is long, but memory fades when accountability comes knocking,” Ansari remarked.

Highlighting recent incidents, Ansari said that assaults on Kashmiris in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, and Kangra (Dehra), Himachal Pradesh, reportedly mark the 15th such incident in 2025 involving harassment, forced slogans, or violence. “When these incidents occur, the so-called loud messiahs are nowhere to be seen no visits, no legal help, no on-ground support. Just tweets, reels, and hollow statements,” he added.

Appealing for restraint, he said that political theatrics should not come at the cost of an entire community’s safety. “Do not turn Kashmiris into a test case simply because your party is no longer winning seats. Kashmiris today are aware enough to see through this drama,” he stated.

Molvi Imran Ansari also urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene and ensure the safety and security of Kashmiris across India. “We are citizens of this country. Because of a few reckless voices, an entire community cannot and should not be put on trial,” he said.

He further added that hatred against Muslims has wider consequences for India’s global standing. “Nearly 20 crore Muslims live in India and are as Indian as anyone else. When Muslims are targeted here, it affects Indians abroad, especially in the Middle East. When Christians are targeted, the echoes are heard in Europe and the West. A democracy demands restraint, not intimidation,” Ansari asserted.

Concluding his message, Ansari said that India’s strength lies in its diversity. “India is a diverse and beautiful nation. Let it remain so. Social harmony must not be fractured for cheap and short-sighted politics,” he said.

AJKSA President Writes to Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Seeks Inclusion of Shia Community Holidays in J&K Calendar

Srinagar, 9th Dec 2025: The All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association (AJKSA) President, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, has once again formally written to Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Dr. Jitendra Singh, reiterating the long-pending request for the inclusion of key Shia community holidays in the official Jammu & Kashmir holiday calendar.

Molvi Imran Ansari highlighted that the Shia community constitutes nearly 15% of J&K’s population, yet is currently provided only two official holidays, Navroz (21st March) and Ashura (10th Muharram). He expressed concern that historically observed dates such as 11th Muharram and Chehlum (40th) were removed over time, leaving the community with inadequate representation in the holiday schedule.

In his communication, he requested the inclusion of Eid-e-Ghadeer (18th Dhul Hijjah) and 13th Rajab, both of which carry deep religious and cultural significance for Shia Muslims. He noted that several other states and Union Territories, including Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Ladakh already acknowledge these important observances through official holidays.

“Recognising these dates is essential for ensuring that the cultural and religious sentiments of the Shia community are respected and reflected in the UT’s official calendar,” he added. He further stated that acknowledging these days would contribute positively to the broader framework of inclusivity, mutual respect, and communal harmony in Jammu & Kashmir.

Molvi Imran Ansari also mentioned that this request has been raised multiple times in the past, and the community remains hopeful that Dr. Jitendra Singh will give the matter due consideration and ensure its implementation from next year onward.

The AJKSA President reiterated that such recognition would reaffirm the administration’s commitment to equitable representation of all communities in the Union Territory.
