The burden of mental illness is on the rise. With the number of people reporting mental health concerns slowly increasing, it has become difficult to ignore the impact that mental illness can have in our day to day lives, our society, and our economy at large. In India, while 20% of our population suffers from a mental illness, only 10-12% of them seek aid for their mental health concerns. In order to build a society where everyone is able to get the support that they require, we need to raise awareness about mental health concerns and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. Lets get aware of how we ourselves become a barrier in not seek help for mental illnesses on time with the right attitude

Whether it’s feelings of shame, guilt, fear, or trying to protect loved ones from the truth, many people with mental illness suffer in silence, choosing not to share their struggles with family and friends.  Yet, according to WHO every 3rd person is suffering from a mental illness esp anxiety and depression and every 40 seconds one su***de is taking place.

Today, while the cultural conversation around mental illness is more widely discussed still too many young people are suffering in silence. They are not receiving the treatment they need to live healthy and productive lives – and many simply then end up committing su***des.

Ending a relationship is hard, whether it was your decision or the other person’s decision. You may be dealing with painful emotions and want to deal with those feelings as quickly as possible. There are several ways that you can work through your painful emotions and start to move on.
If things don’t seem to get better with time, remember that you can always turn to friends, family, or even a mental health professional like me for support.

When you have a conversation with another person, you listen closely and respond appropriately, so that your conversation is a true exchange of ideas,emotions and thoughts and not just people waiting for their turn to talk.

A good conversation makes you feel heard, satisfied, and maybe even more informed.
