When cancer develops in the cervix of a female, it is termed as Cervical Cancer (CC). CC usually develops slowly over time with initial appearance of abnormal cells in the cervical tissue. Later, cancer cells start to grow and spread more deeply into the cervix and to surrounding areas.

CC is a disease that can be prevented by avoiding risk factors & HPV vaccination.

Early detection followed by treatment of pre-cancerous lesions can prevent the majority of cervical cancer.

All women aged 30 years and more should be screened for CC at least once.

થાઇરોઇડ કેન્સર –
કોને થઇ શકે? : રેડિએશનનાં સંપર્કમાં આવનાર વ્યક્તિઓને થવાની સંભાવના વધુ, વારસાગત રીતે પણ આ કેન્સર થઇ શકે.
કેવી રીતે થાય? થાઇરોઇડ ગ્રંથિમાં એક નાની ગાંઠ જેવું હોય છે, આ ગાંઠમાંથી જ થાઇરોઇડનાં કેન્સરની ગાંઠ થવાની શક્યતા વધી જાય છે.
આ રીતે ચકાસી શકાય : આ ગાંઠને અલ્ટ્રા સાઉન્ડ કિરણોથી ચકાસી શકાય છે. જો કદ શંકાસ્પદ રીતે વધેલું જોવા મળે તો નીડલ દ્વારા બાયોપ્સી કરાય છે.
લક્ષણો : ગળા પર સોજો રહેવો, થાઇરોઇડની ગ્રંથિ જ્યાં આવેલી હોય એ જગ્યા પર હાથ અડાડતા કઠણ ગાંઠ જેવું લાગવું, ગળવામાં તકલીફ પડવી.
-થાઇરોઇડનાં કેન્સરનું નિદાન જો પ્રાથમિક તબક્કામાં થઇ જાય તો સારવાર શક્ય છે.
