How do babies get oxygen during pregnancy?
The mother's placenta helps the baby "breathe" while it is growing in the womb. Oxygen and carbon dioxide flow through the blood in the placenta. Most of it goes to the heart and flows through the baby's body.
How can I get more oxygen while pregnant?
Here's a good exercise to get your body well-oxygenated. Stand up; inhale as you raise your arms up and out to the sides, bringing your head up at the same time. Exhale slowly as you lower your arms and head. Focus on expanding your rib cage(rather than your stomach) as you inhale.
