Elated to announce that my article " Prenatal ultrasound evaluation of salivary glands in mid-trimester scans " has been published in the International journal " JUM - Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine "....Until now, it was widely believed that salivary glands and related temporomandibular structures could not be visualized on a mid trimester anomaly scan....This is the first article in the WORLD that demonstrates the sonoanatomy of parotid, submandibular gland, external carotid artery, retromandibular vein, facial artery - vein, temporal fossa and zygomatic arch in a mid trimester fetal anomaly scan and devises a novel scanning protocol for assessment of the same

Sonography is widely used nowadays whether it is stomach ache sonography, pregnancy related sonography or joint pain sonography. Sonography uses ultrasound waves. It does not use radiation. Hence sonography is the safest.
