Temporomandibular disorders (TMDS) is a condition that cause pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and muscles that control jaw movement.

It is usually a chronic condition and is caused by improper occlusion ( improper closure of jaws and teeth while chewing).

Signs and symptoms of TMJ disorders may include:
- Pain in the chewing muscles and/or jaw joint (most common symptom).
- Pain that spreads to the face or neck.
- Jaw stiffness.
- Limited movement or locking of the jaw.
- Painful clicking of jaw joint when opening or closing the mouth.
- Ringing in the ears.

It can be easily confused for many other medical conditions and hence proper diagnosis is the key.

If your gums are swollen or bleed when you brush your teeth, it could be a sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Periodontitis or periodontal disease, begins with bacterial growth in your mouth and may end, if not properly treated, with tooth loss due to destruction of the tissue that surrounds your teeth.

If left untreated, gum disease may lead to the development of a variety of health problems, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and pre-term, low-birth-weight babies.

Reducing risk factors, maintaining a good oral hygiene, and keeping routine dental appointments can reduce the risk and severity of gum disease.

We at guide a child’s dental development so that they reach adulthood with a functional, aesthetic and pain free dentition. We are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. Children begin to get their baby teeth during the first 6 months of life. By age 6 or 7 years, they start to lose their first set of teeth, which eventually are replaced by secondary, permanent teeth.

Without proper dental care, children face possible oral decay and disease that can cause a lifetime of pain and complications. About 1 of 5 (20%) children aged 5 to 11 years have at least one untreated decayed tooth.

We offer a wide range of treatment options, as well as expertise and training to care for your child’s teeth, gums and mouth. Book an appointment today.

Dentists and oral surgeons perform tooth extractions for many reasons like dental cavities, gum disease, dental infections, trauma or injury, wisdom teeth complications, etc. In some cases, a dentist will remove a tooth to make space for dental prosthetics or braces.
Tooth extraction is a relatively quick outpatient procedure with either local, general, intravenous anaesthesia, or a combination.

Tooth extraction completely removes a problematic tooth to prevent future complications.

After a tooth extraction, proper aftercare is vital, as it helps promote clotting and protect the extraction site during the healing process. Most simple extractions should heal within 7 to 10 days.

If you are experiencing tooth abnormalities, make an appointment today.

Dental braces are appliances which are used to align or straighten the teeth and guide the teeth to the corrected position. They are made up of wires, brackets, and bands. Braces aid to correct irregular teeth positioning, jaw correction, improvement in chewing and smile aesthetics.

Clear Aligners on other hand are transparent trays made of special material which are used to straighten teeth just like braces. They use gentle and constant force to move the teeth in the required position without going through the hassles of metal wires and brackets.

Orthodontic treatment often begin on patients as young as 10-11 year old but healthy teeth can be orthodontically treated at any age.

Find more information on dental aligners, braces, treatment options and modalities depending upon your dentition . Book a consultation today.
