Interesting and very rare case of Uterine Artery pseudo aneurysm after LSCS.....at our Mothercare hospital, vedroad.
It’s very rare but life threating complication after LSCS.....
It’s prevalence 2-3/1000 deliveries

We have done LSCS for precious IVF pregnancy on 1/3/2022
Intra op and post op...... uneventful
Patient discharge with happy face.......
But....
After 48 day of LSCS on 18/4/2022...Pt came with severe abdominal pain......
USG was done.....which s/o hemoperitoneum and blood clots at LSCS scar site with small vessel close to that clot.
Pt was vitally stable and onother senior Gynecologist opinion taken and chosen conservative treatment .
But there is no resolution of hemoperitoneum and blood clot.
So plan for second expert USG.....on 22/4/22 which shows Pseudo aneurysm of left uterine artery and leakage of blood from there........causing hemoperitoneum.
Immediately decision taken to shift higher center and intervention radiologist consultation done and plan for CT angiography ….which s/o leakage from aneurysm in left uterine artery
Then immediately decision taken for uterine artery embolisation .
Also it’s difficult task to reach that aneurysm site due to tortuosity of uterine artery.
But at the end radiologist have done successfully embolisation .
Pt was discharged successfully next day

Moral of story..... uterine artery pseudo aneurysm is very rare but life threating complication of LSCS......alwys keep in mind this differential diagnosis.
Etiology of aneurysm
Mostly post Lscs , post D&E , scar ectopic common
Diagnosis
Color Doppler scan is key to diagnosis showing arterial blood flow in vessel and CT angiography
Treatment
Early diagnosis and embolisation of aneurysm.

Early diagnosis and promt treatment is only key to save a life of patient....
