Long Stem kya hota hai? Hip Replacement mein kab aur kyu lagaya jata hai?

Hip replacement mein generally do type ke stem hote hain:
Short Stem aur Long Stem

⭐ Short Stem kya karta hai?

Ye haddi ke upar wale part (proximal bone) mein strong hold banata hai.

Ye uncemented hota hai—jisme bone naturally grow hoke isko pakad leti hai.

Jab upar ki haddi healthy ho, short stem bahut accha chal jata hai.

❗ Problems kab aati hain?

Kayi baar surgery ke time ya pehle se:

Haddi mein crack/splintage ho jata hai.

X-ray mein jo wire dikh rahi hoti hai, wo is crack ko hold karne ke liye hoti hai.

Jab upar ka bone weak ho jata hai:

Short stem ka hold bhi weak ho jata hai

Stem andar hilta rehta hai

Patient ko pain hota hai

Chalna-phirna lagbhag band sa ho jata hai

✔ Fir Long Stem kyu lagate hain?

Jab upar ka bone toot chuka ho ya weak ho, to short stem upar pakad nahi bana pata.
Solution = Long Stem

⭐ Long Stem ka kaam

Ye haddi ke neeche wale strong part (distal bone) mein hold banata hai.

Upar ki weakness se farak nahi padta.

Neeche strong hold milne ke baad patient:
→ dubara chalna-phirna start kar deta hai
→ pain kam ho jata hai
→ daily activities normal ho jaati hain

Isiliye:
Jab short stem fail ho jata hai, revision surgery mein hum Long Stem lagate hain.
