ACC- Adenoid Cyetic Carcinoma is a slow-growing but highly infiltrative salivary gland malignancy, notorious for perineural invasion and a high risk of late distant metastasis, especially to the lungs.
Above case of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) of the right submandibular salivary gland is a rare tumor even in adults — but in a 15-year-old boy, it is exceptionally rare.
• ACC accounts for only 1% of all head and neck cancers
• It makes up 10% of all salivary gland malignancies
• The submandibular gland is involved in just 15–25% of ACC cases
