👩⚕️ Understanding UPT (Urine Pregnancy Test) Kit Results
Many patients visit our hospital with questions about how to interpret the pregnancy test kit results. Here’s a simple explanation 👇
✅ The kit has two lines — one Control Line (C) and one Test Line (T).
📍 If only the control line appears — the test is negative (not pregnant).
📍 If both lines appear, even if the test line is faint, it usually means the test is positive (pregnant).
📍 If the test line is very faint or unclear, it could indicate an early pregnancy or a missed abortion — in that case, consult your doctor immediately.
📍 If the control line is faint or missing, the kit is invalid — you should repeat the test with a new kit.
💡 Sometimes, testing too early (3–4 days before periods) may also give a faint result, so it’s best to retest after a few days or visit your doctor for confirmation.
