Jupiter Hospital recently achieved a significant milestone by successfully treating a 26-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐁𝐌𝐈 𝐨𝐟 86.44 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 232.5 𝐤𝐠𝐬.
The patient presented with severe health issues, including back pain, obstructive sleep apnea leading to sleep disturbances, irregular menstrual cycles, and breathlessness during minimal physical exertion. Despite previous unsuccessful attempts at weight loss, her condition continued to deteriorate, increasing her susceptibility to diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
Under the expert care of Dr. Prashant Salvi and the dedicated team at the hospital’s specialized Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Unit, the patient underwent a gastric bypass procedure. Impressively, she was able to walk comfortably within five hours post-surgery and was discharged on the third day after the procedure.
