A complex case, wonderful result❗️

At 🏥 Dr. Jyotsna Jagtap’s ENT Hospital & Rhinoplasty Center, Thane, we recently treated a challenging 2nd Revision Rhinoplasty case where the patient had undergone two prior surgeries at other centres, was unhappy with the results and was facing:

✔️ Persistent nasal obstruction

It was a privilege to present my edited surgical video 📹 on Preservation Rhinoplasty, showcasing two distinct techniques - both of which were well appreciated by all.

One of the most touching moments was witnessing the felicitation of Dr. K.K. Ramalingam Sir on his 90th birthday- a towering figure in our specialty and a timeless source of inspiration 🌟.

It was equally enriching to share the platform with esteemed colleagues like Dr. Madhuri Mehta Ma’am, Dr. Nupur Nerurkar Ma’am, Dr. Gaurav, Dr. Rajesh Yadav, and many others whose academic brilliance made the event truly memorable.

👃Revision Rhinoplasty with Costal Cartilage Graft❗️

This patient came to us with persistent nasal obstruction and a visibly crooked nose, despite undergoing septoplasty at another center. On evaluation, there was recurrence of septal deviation and an uncorrected bony framework. Additionally, there was no tip support, which further compromised both function and nasal aesthetics.

ℹ️ We performed a revision septorhinoplasty, using costal cartilage grafts to rebuild and reinforce the nasal framework. The rib grafts provided essential structural support, particularly for the tip and dorsum, ensuring long-term stability and symmetry.

🛑 Caution for Patients and Surgeons: When there’s a severe septal deviation with a crooked nose, it is always advisable to opt for septorhinoplasty in the primary surgery.

✅ Corrects both internal deviation and external deformity
✅ Prevents the need for revision and rib cartilage harvest
✅ Ensures better functional and aesthetic outcomes in a single surgery
