Thinning hair refers to minor to moderate hair loss. Some amount of daily hair loss (50-100 strands of hair) is normal. The problem is when you have hair fall more than the normal amount with no compensating hair growth.
Hair fall may be due to several reasons:
•Poor nutrition
•Erratic and irregular lifestyle – late nights and long hours
•Environmental factors such as pollution and climate
•Stress, anxiety and tension and inadequate sleep or rest
•Lifestyle habits are a key contributor to thinning hair.
•Over-treating your hair with color treatments, perms, relaxers, and more.
•Using harsh hair products, such as extreme-hold hair sprays and gels.
•Wearing your hair up too tightly.
•Not getting enough iron, folic acid, and other minerals in your diet.
Tips:
•Don’t brush your hair when it is wet.
•Drink plenty of water.
•Avoid unhealthy practices such as smoking and drinking alcohol.
•Consume raw vegetables and salads regularly.
•Sleep adequately and, preferably, at night.
While the process of thinning hair can be concerning at first, it’s likely treatable. However, if you continue to experience hair loss, it may be time to talk to your healthcare provider. This is especially true if you start developing bald spots.
