Amazing April!!!
we had not one not two but three Super Adventures to keep us Going through April!!!
1. Never knew being on a live radio show could be this interesting!!!! On 16th April we were invited on “Hamari Sehat”- Health Talk Show, hosted by RJ Namrata on FM Gold 100.1MHz. This live show featured the segment on Dental Implants, and we took the audience through the various aspects of dental implants as a viable solution for correcting edentulism and restoring smiles with function. I was happy to answer a lot of queries from keen listeners. The best part was that they played my song selection... All classics.. Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Mannna De....
2. 21st April is celebrated globally as World Haemophilia Day. this is the second time I got invited by the Haemophilia Society Thane Chapter to deliver a guest lecture on Dental Management of Haemophiliac patients, especially for young children. At present, only 15 per cent of the total Haemophilia population has been identified in India and the rest lay undiagnosed. Haemophilia is a group of hereditary genetic disorders that impairs the body's ability to control blood clotting. Even after a minor injury or cut, patients' blood does not clot normally due to the absence of clotting proteins called Anti Hemophilia Factors. If not taken care, recurrent and prolonged bleeding into joints, muscles and other sensitive organs can lead to permanent disability and even death. The dentist has to be cautious enough to diagnose the bleeding disorders and provide timely measures to arrest untoward bleeding incidences.
3. A massive free health check up camp was organised by Shri Eknath Shinde, guardian minister for Thane district on 29 & 30th of April at Mulund for the benefit of the population. I was a part of the dental team that scrutinized patients for oral disease. The need for such camps is much appreciated, and we need to contribute as much as we can towards this noble cause!!
