GERIATRIC REHABILITATION

Geriatric Rehabilitation includes:
➡️Treatment for specific problems
➡️Community training
➡️Social training
➡️Balance training
➡️General fitness etc

These can be conducted either
➡️individually
➡️or in groups

There are various geriatric clubs where a lot of activities are conducted keeping all the aspects in mind.

Is exercise age limited??

Elderly people (60 and above) may have specific age related problems like

INDUSTRIAL REHABILITATION

ERGONOMICS, is a part of industrial rehabilitation.

A lot of you might be familiar with this term... especially my DESK JOB friends!

❌Simply keeping your back straight while sitting is NOT ERGONOMICS.

All the jobs across organized and unorganized sector, have certain job demands, putting some structures of body under repetitive use/stress.

Inorder to prevent injury from it...there are certain ergonomic principals that can be followed. This is applicable for

➡️lifting objects
➡️sitting jobs
➡️standing jobs
➡️jobs requiring forward bending
➡️jobs requiring handling of smaller/tiny objects etc etc...

A thorough ergonomic assessment, followed by its application should be done to avoid injuries...what we commonly call it as "WORK RELATED MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS".
