🔥 PART 5/5 — DIET & LIFESTYLE AFTER APPENDICECTOMY

AFTER APPENDICITIS SURGERY: WHAT CAN YOU ACTUALLY EAT?
“No spicy food.”
“No lifting weights.”
“Only khichdi for 1 month.”
We’ve all heard these — but how many are true?
In the final part of this series, I break down REAL post-operative diet, activity, and recovery guidelines… so patients don’t fall prey to myths.
Your body heals faster when you know what’s safe, and what’s not.

👉 This completes the series. More surgical topics coming soon.

🩺 One test that answers many questions.

Bloating… acidity… stomach pain… trouble swallowing…
Sometimes these routine symptoms point to a deeper issue.

OGD Scopy (Upper GI Endoscopy) helps detect:
âś” Gastritis
âś” Ulcers
âś” Reflux disease
âś” H. pylori infection
âś” Tumours & early cancers

Quick. Safe. Accurate.
If symptoms persist — don’t wait. Get checked.

🔥 PART 4/5 — INTRA-OPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS

Suspense + Respect for Surgery

WHAT CAN GO WRONG DURING APPENDICITIS SURGERY?
Every surgery looks smooth… until it doesn’t.
In Part 4, I talk about the risks no one discusses openly — bleeding, adhesions, unexpected anatomy, injuries, and rare surprises that even experienced surgeons must calmly navigate.
Because surgery isn’t just skills — it’s anticipation, preparation and presence of mind.

👉 Final part coming next.

🔥 PART 3/5 — HOW INTRA-OP FINDINGS CHANGE EVERYTHING

Behind-the-Scenes OT Reveal

INSIDE THE OT: WHAT THE CAMERA DOESN’T SHOW YOU.
Appendicitis surgery looks simple from the outside — but inside the OT, every second is a decision.
Is the appendix stuck? Is there pus? Is the base friable? Is the mass too inflamed?
Part 3 takes you straight into a surgeon’s thought-process:
🔹 When can we finish laparoscopically?
🔹 When do we convert to open?
🔹 And yes… when do we sometimes abandon the procedure?
Welcome to the real world of surgical judgement.

👉 Part 4 dropping soon.

🔥 PART 2/5 — WHY DIAGNOSING APPENDICITIS IS HARD

APPENDICITIS: THE MASTER OF DISGUISE.
If appendicitis had a personality, it would be a shape-shifter.
One day it looks like a kidney stone.
Another day it behaves like a twisted ovarian cyst.
Sometimes it pretends to be gallbladder pain… or even an ectopic pregnancy.
In Part 2, I explain why diagnosing appendicitis is one of the most confusing puzzles in surgery — and why clinical judgement matters more than Google symptoms.

👉 Part 3 coming up next.

🔥 PART 1/5 — CAUSES OF APPENDICITIS

APPENDIX: The Tiny Organ That Creates Big Drama.
Everyone’s heard of appendicitis… but very few know why it actually happens.
Is it food? Infection? Stones? Genetics?
In Part 1 of this series, I break down the REAL triggers behind this explosive little organ — in simple language, minus the medical jargon.
If you’ve ever wondered “Why does the appendix even get angry?”… this one’s for you.

👉 Part 2 drops soon. Follow the series.

Constipation isn’t just discomfort — it’s a warning sign.
Low-fiber diet, inadequate water intake, skipping meals, sedentary lifestyle, holding stools for long, and excess tea/coffee all slow down bowel movements. Over time, this leads to hard stools, excessive straining, and increased pressure in the a**l ca**l.
This constant strain can cause piles, a**l fissures, re**al bleeding, and even chronic anore**al pain.
Simple daily habits can prevent most of these problems:
✔️ High-fiber diet (fruits, vegetables, salads, oats)
✔️ Hydration – 2–3 litres/day
✔️ Regular meals
✔️ Avoid prolonged sitting
✔️ A 20–30 minute walk
✔️ Never ignore the natural urge

Healthy bowels = Healthy life.
