IPSOCON 2022- The scientific program was conducted in 4 halls which were named to pay tributes to 4 stalwarts in Kerala Psychiatry..Dr S Jayaram,Dr V Suraraj Mani,Dr.MRR Menon and Dr K Raju..The scientific program was meticulously prepared by the Scientific Committee Chairperson Dr Christina George?,Convenor Dr Arun B Nair along with active interaction with IPS SZ CME Committee. The sessions were by eminent speakers Dr Paul Russell,CMC Vellore; Dr Chittaranjan Andrade,NIMHANS;Dr Arun Kishore UK and the likes. The invited lectures,workshops, Vishakha and athma orations,DS Raju Award,SS Raju Award, Reghurami Reddi award,Shatavahana poster award,UG quiz and about 150 Freepapers and posters etc were conducted the three days with on the dot time management.The herculean task of streaming as an online mode was the cherry on the top.

An eminent Psychiatrist, empathetic practitioner and efficient organiser was born on 4th April 1952.He was an alumni of Govt Medical College, Trivandrum and had retired from Kerala health services as one of the most dynamic Superintendents of Mental Health Centre,TVM.He held key positions as President of Venad Guild of Psychiatrists, IMA Chathannur,Lions Club,IAPP,Indian Psychiatric Society and IPS South Zone.He was also a member of Kerala State Mental Health Authority from 1999-2006.He was in the forefront in conducting IPSOCON 2009 and ANCIAPP2011.He passed away leaving a big gap for the Psychiatric fraternity to fill on 22.10.2016.In his memory we pay our humble homages and tributes.
Dr V Suraraj Mani

One of the most popular Psychiatrist of Kerala,he walked ahead of his times not only in clinical work but also in organisational and academic activities. He was a pioneer in establishing the Mukthi Deaddiction Centre and Behavioral ICU in the campus of Mental Health Centre,Trivandrum. He was also the Secretary of Venad Guild of Psychiatrists, editor of Kerala Journal of Psychiatry,Secretary World Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Kerala branch,International World Mental Health Network Asia. He is an alumni of Govt Medical College Trivandrum,Bombay Seth GS Medical College and John Hopkins University.He received the prestigious SS Jayaram award and the Kerala state award for Best doctor. He passed away at the prime of his life on 21.02 2003.The Dr. V. S. Mani memorial oration award was instituted by Venad Guild of Psychiatrists in his memory.We pay our heartfelt homages and tributes to his memory.
Dr MRR Menon

A powerful personality ,successful practitioner and an organiser par excellence, he served in Kerala Health Services as the Superintendent of Mental Health Centre, Trivandrum and after retirement established JJ hospital and worked in Cosmopolitan hospital. He is an alumnus of Govt Medical College Trivandrum, NIMHANS Bangalore and received MRCP Psych.He was the key organiser of IPSOCON 2009 and the main pillar of many activities of Rotary Club,Trivandrum Club. He passed away on 30.12.2012. We bow before his memory and pay our humble homages.
Dr K Raju

A teacher known for his smiles and impromptu songs.He was warm and friendly to all and he is remembered fondly by his patients,friends and students. He was an alumnus and retiree from Dept of Psychiatry, Govt Medical College Trivandrum. He passed away on 02.06.2019 leaving a vacuum in the hearts of those who love him. Humble homages and tributes to his memory.
The participation of delegates in all the 4 halls were mind blowing.Online attendance was also significantly high..CME inauguration done by Dr Ramanan Earat and IPS SZ office bearers.The 4 halls were efficiently managed by a team of JRs ,DNBees and faculty of Govt Medical College TVM and Mental Health Centre.
