The tradition of Kalarichikilsa developed as a branch of Ayurvedic medicine also known as Marmachikilsa specializing in treatment of orthopaedic and neuromuscular injuries and identifying, diagnosing and treating injuries to the vital spots or Marmas. With special therapies and practical methods of treatments different from the classical Ayurveda, Kalarichikilsa earned patronage of the common peop

le and became an integral part of the practice of the art of Kalarippayat. In other words, kalarichikilsa was the forerunner of the present day sports medicine with its base on Ayurveda the prestigious Indian science of medicine. CV Govindan Kutty Nair, in memory of his father and teacher - Veerasree CV Narayanan Nair Gurukkal of Northern Kerala. The institution aims at preserving and propagating the traditional system of Kalari Chikitsa, so that it is useful to the common man as an alternative to other time consuming and comparatively expensive treatment systems. Our treatment system covers a variety of conditions including acute sports injuries / injuries such muscle spasms, sprains, ligament injuries, minor fractures, contusions etc. as well as chronic conditions such as Cervical, Lumbar Spondylitis/Spondylosis, Low Back Pain and other such conditions.
