Many students, who invested in these programmes expecting vibrant on-campus experiences, are now confronting financial loss, legal uncertainty, and emotional stress due to revised requirements mandating full-time, in-person attendance.

This situation highlights the evolving landscape of global education and the urgent need for transparent policies, clear communication, and student-focused support to ensure fair and smooth academic mobility. The Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum is delighted to present "Eclectic Impressions", a solo art exhibition by contemporary artist Rajeev Balakrishnan, opening today at Goethe-Zentrum, Allianz Haus, Jawahar Nagar.

Marking an inspiring shift from a 29 year career in the IT industry to full-time artistic practice, Rajeev Balakrishnan’s works explore multiple styles and mediums, capturing impressions shaped by experience, experimentation, and personal evolution. Each artwork reflects a dynamic creative journey that embraces diversity in form and expression. Eminent sculptor Shafeek A, a former president of the Kerala Chithrakala Parishath, formally inaugurated the exhibition, adding further significance to this cultural showcase.

Ambassador His Excellency Dr. Philipp Ackermann, German Ambassador to India and Bhutan, visited the Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum, underscoring the growing strength of Indo-German cooperation in skills development and ethical talent mobility. The Ambassador’s visit coincided with a significant milestone in Kerala’s global skills and mobility ecosystem, as the MoU between the Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) and the Goethe-Institut, New Delhi, was formally signed at the Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum. The collaboration strengthens German language education, cultural competence, and ethical skilled migration pathways. The occasion also marked 1,000+ successful departures under the TripleWin Kerala program, reflecting Kerala’s expanding global workforce footprint.

The program featured a special address by Dr. Marla Stuckenberg (South Asia Regional Director, Goethe-Institut), followed by the chief guest address by Ambassador His Excellency Dr. Philipp Ackermann, who highlighted the strategic depth of Indo-German collaboration in skills, language excellence, and sustainable mobility. The MoU was signed by Mr. Vinod T. V. (COO, KASE) and Dr. Alexandra Mittler (South Asia Deputy Director and Head of the Language Department, Goethe-Institut). The program also included an address by Mr. Ajith Kolassery (CEO, NORKA Roots), along with a special segment honoring the dedicated teachers of the Goethe-Zentrum for their contributions to language excellence. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Liju George (Project Head, TripleWin Kerala & Telangana). This landmark engagement reaffirms a shared commitment to high-quality language training, ethical migration frameworks, and sustainable global career pathways for Kerala’s youth.

On 25 November 2025, Goethe-Zentrum had the privilege of hosting Ms. Kathy Moran, senior photo editor at National Geographic Magazine for over three decades, for an inspiring evening of storytelling and conservation insights. As a leading figure in wildlife photography and visual journalism, Kathy shared her extraordinary journey with National Geographic, reflecting on landmark projects, editorial experiences, and the profound impact of visual storytelling in driving global conservation efforts. Her session offered a rare and enriching experience for photographers, students, and nature enthusiasts alike.

The program was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Mr. G. Vijaya Raghavan (Chairperson, Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum & Kochi), who delivered the welcome address, and Mr. Balan Madhavan (Senior Fellow, ILCP), who introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Syed Ibrahim also honored the gathering with his presence and delivered the vote of thanks.
