TIMed is a Technology Business Incubator for Medical Devices and Biomaterials at Trivandrum, India launched by SCTIMST (www.sctimst.ac.in).

TIMed is a Technology Business Incubator for Medical Devices and Biomaterials that is functioning as a Not for Profit Society and located in Trivandrum. It is being promoted by SCTIMST - Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology and Supported by the State Government through Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) as well as by the Central Government through Department of Science & Technology (DST). We are a fairly new organisation that is scouting for promising start ups especially in the area of Medical Devices and Biomaterials in order to support them through the immense expertise and services that we could provide. We have customisable incubation spaces, access to Tertiary Referal Super Speciality Hospital, The Biomedical Wing of SCTIMST and its testing services, Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies along with the huge Technology Compendium that the centre has created that is ready for commercialization.

- Sascan Meditech Pvt. Ltd. incubated at SCTIMST TIMed was adjudged the winner of the award under the Startup category for the indigenous development of OralScan - a non-invasive handheld optical device that can help in screening oral cancers at a very early stage and also in biopsy guidance.
The award was declared by the Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, at the Valedictory function of the celebrations held at Pragathi Maidan, New Delhi, on the 14th of May 2023. Dr Subhash Narayanan, the Founder CEO, and CTO of Sascan Meditech Pvt. Ltd., accompanied by Vinodkumar Damodaran, the Marketing Director, received the award (cash prize of Rs Fifteen Lakhs ). The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister. Sascan has received funding support from different funding agencies like – Department Of Science And Technology (Dst), Department of Biotechnology, Unicorn India Ventures, Kerala Startup Mission etc.
