1) Lightweight vs Heavy
A light-weight wheelchair is better compared to a heavy wheelchair as it facilitates easy transfer and transport
2) Manual v/s motorized wheelchair
If you have limited mobility, a specific health condition or need the extra assistance, an electric wheelchair makes sense. But, if you only need a wheelchair temporarily you can choose between a manual self-propelled or attendant propelled model.
3) Wheelchair Size and Dimensions
Make sure to measure the width and height of the chair and you meet the specified weight limit.
4) Reclining or Upright
Some wheelchairs allow you to tilt the back for those who spend extended amount of time on a wheelchair and desire a degree of flexibility. If the intended user has good core strength and can sit up, an upright wheelchair can be considered.

Make sure your wheelchair can be folded to save space and can be easily transported.
7) Removable or Swingable Armrest & Footrest
Wheelchairs with removable armrest and footrest are best for easy bed and wheelchair transfers.
8 ) Wheelchair with Commode
Some wheelchairs allow you to roll over a toilet seat and some also have integrated commodes. Make sure you choose the right option to access the toilet in a safe and dignified manner.
