Hakim Syed Karam Hussain (Founder of Dawakhana Shifaul Amraz), authored numerous books. One such book in Urdu has recently come to the attention, which he published on February 1, 1922, for the session of ‘All India Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbi Conference’ held in Hyderabad on March 2-3, 1922.
This book remains highly relevant even today as it addresses the differential diagnosis of various diseases, including those with similar signs and symptoms. It also covers those drugs that resemble each other and pose challenges for pharmacognostic studies.
In essence, the book provides insights and answers to those diseases that are difficult to diagnose due to overlapping symptoms and drugs which are lookalike and unnatural in origin.
The book is dedicated to Mir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII (1886 – 1967), the last Nizam of Hyderabad.
