Pregnancy needs extra nourishment 💚

A shocking 7 out of 10 Indian women suffer from anemia, making it one of the most widespread yet overlooked health crises in the country. According to the National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS-5, 2019-21), 57.0% of women aged 15-49 in India are anaemic. This includes 52.2% of pregnant women. Prevalence is higher in rural areas (70.4%) compared to urban areas (64.7%).

To help prevent anaemia:
• Include iron-rich foods (greens, jaggery, dates, lentils, eggs/meat as per diet)
• Add vitamin C (orange, lemon, amla) to improve absorption
• Take supplements only as prescribed
