World Kidney Day is a global campaign that aims to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

The World Kidney Day 2022 theme is “Kidney Health for All”.
The 2022 campaign will focus on efforts to increase education and awareness about kidney health and on reducing the stubbornly high CKD knowledge gap at all levels of kidney care.

What steps we have taken care -
Encourage systematic screening of all patients with diabetes and hypertension for CKD.

Encourage preventive behaviors.

Educate all medical professionals about their key role in detecting and reducing the risk of CKD, particularly in high-risk populations.

Stress the important role of local and national health authorities in controlling the CKD epidemic.
On World Kidney Day,
We wish you all healthy and happy kidneys

If you have kidney failure, a kidney transplant can help you feel better and live longer. Unfortunately, many myths persist about kidney transplant, including when you should get it, how much a kidney transplant costs, and who is eligible etc

Myth: Kidney transplantation is a last resort.
Fact: It should be your first option.
“The time to think about transplant is as early as possible,”In fact, when someone is faced with advanced kidney disease, the first question they should ask themselves should be, ‘do I really want to replace my kidney function with dialysis or do I want to have a transplant?’ According to Dr. Yeswanth Gangaiah you don’t need to be on dialysis first. In fact, a preemptive transplant – one given before dialysis -- can allow you to avoid dialysis altogether. This, more often than not, means that you will live longer after your kidney transplant.
