SPYSS was started in 1980 as a small yoga camp at Tumkur, Karnataka and ever since grown to become a large organization with 700+ branches across the world with more than 40,000+ voluntary teachers and millions of Yoga practitioners. The samithi’s success attributes to the leadership of its Chief Convener – Shri A R Ramaswamyanna, under the blessings of Holiness late Shri RaghavendraSwamiji of Malladihalli, mentoring from late Shri Ajit Kumar and practice methodology of late Padmavibhushan Dr B. The motto of SPYSS is defined as – Sanskara (value based behavior and activities),Sanghatane (identifying oneself with a bigger cause) and Seve (service to humanity). To achieve these objectives, SPYSS is bringing a silent transformation in the lives of millions of people through its daily yoga classes. The transformation is reflected through daily conduct, healthy life style, dynamic personality, harmonious family and positive approach to life. All these contribute to a better society around us.

SPYSS is an organization spearheading a movement for social enrichment, healthy & peaceful world by passing precious yogic knowledge for free of cost since last 39+ years and creating awareness in society that by leading yogic way of life we can make the noble phrase mentioned in Mahopanishad “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” a living reality on earth.

SPYSS had its genesis in 1980 through the active initiation of Shri A.R. Ramaswamay Anna, under the blessings of Holiness late Shri RaghavendraSwamiji of Malladihalli, mentoring from late Shri Ajit Kumar and practice methodology of late Padmavibhushan Dr B. K. S.Iyengar to assist all sections of people in the society irrespective of religion, caste, creed, gender with 3 cardinal principles Sanskar (Right attitude), Sanghatan (Team Spirit) and Seva (Selfless service).

In SPYSS today lakhs of people are practicing yoga in its 1000+ branches across India & overseas through its 25,000+ trained Yoga teachers for Free. The different levels of training enables yoga practitioners to become disciplined yoga teachers, who regularly practice yoga & impart free yoga training based on 5 essential aspects of life like Physical, Mental, Emotional, Intellectual & Spiritual through Yogasana, pranayama, meditation, therapy, Trekking, social service activities etc., with pure unconditional love without any expectation in return like a mother’s love for her child and by leading yogic way of life.
