We always hear that carbs( carbohydrates) are bad and we need to reduce them to avoid having Diabetes and obesity.. When confronted with Diabetes Carbs seems to be the main culprit..Is it so? Lets check out-
1). Carbs are the fuel for body.If we reduce their consumption You will start feeling less energy.
2). Not all carbs are bad. Bad are the what i call is mostly " Man made carbs" and good carbs are what mother nature has provided and are Plant based.
3). Reducing carbs too much and having only proteins may reduce sugars momentarily but increase metabolic burden to kidneys, liver.
4). Workplaces can refrain from bad carbs in meetings .
What i advise to my diabetic patients is to start a day with carbohydrate breakfast( Fruits, Vegetables,) and Take a bowl of plant protein ( legumes, Chickpeas) mixed with veggies..
