Teeth are the only part of the human body that cannot heal themselves—especially the enamel. It is Acellular , avascular & Non-Vital. Once it's damaged—through decay, trauma, or erosion—there is no intrinsic healing mechanism. Unlike bone or skin, enamel cannot regenerate or remodel.
Once cavitation occurs or structural integrity is lost, biological healing is no longer possible for enamel .
Cavitation in enamel leads to hypersensitivity and pain , and if not arrested can further progress deeper to dentin and pulp ,leading to further progression of Tooth decay and worsen pain.
