RFA v/s LASER for varicose veins
1. RFA causes less pain after the procedure because it uses gentle, even heat to close the veins.
2. RFA works at a lower heat (about 120°C), while LASER can produce much higher heat (sometimes over 300°C), which can harm nearby tissues.
3. People usually recover faster and have less swelling or bruising after RFA compared to LASER treatment.
4. RFA is technically advanced, with machines that control the heat automatically for safe and proper vein closure.
5. The chances of the veins staying closed long-term are as good or better with RFA, so many doctors prefer it for treating varicose veins.

Laparoscopic surgery is contraindicated in low cardiac output because the insufflation of gas (usually CO₂) into the abdomen increases intra-abdominal pressure. This pressure can reduce venous return to the heart, further lowering cardiac output. It may worsen hemodynamic stability in patients with compromised heart function.
TEP (Totally Extraperitoneal) hernia repair is safer in patients with low cardiac output, as it avoids entering the abdominal cavity and minimizes CO₂ insufflation pressure. This helps maintain more stable hemodynamics compared to traditional laparoscopic methods.

Hernia is not just an old age-related disease—it can occur at any age, including in young people. In fact, many hernias are seen in younger individuals due to factors like heavy lifting, sports injuries, chronic coughing, or even congenital weakness in the abdominal wall. Children can be born with hernias, and adults may develop them from physical strain or surgery. So, while age can be a factor, hernias don't discriminate—it's all about pressure and weak spots!
