Osteoarthritis causes joint pain and functional disorder, of which knee osteoarthritis is the most common.
Nowadays, clinically effective treatments mainly include conservative treatment, arthroplasty, and osteotomy. However, conservative treatment only offers symptomatic relief and arthroplasty is limited to the patients with a moderate to severe degree of osteoarthritis.

40- 45 years male has had post MTV trauma ankle left foot compound injury about 10 years ago. He had multiple surgeries to cover, reconstruction foot.

In the process they saved, covered foot but patient developed severe equino cavus, internal rotation deformity with nonhealing wound on weight bearing lateral part of deformed foot.

Osteotomy literally means "cutting of the bone." In a knee osteotomy, either the tibia (shinbone) or femur (thighbone) is cut and then reshaped to relieve pressure on one compartment of the knee joint.

Knee osteotomy is used when a patient has early-stage osteoarthritis that has damaged just one side of the knee joint. By shifting weight off of the damaged side of the joint, an osteotomy can relieve pain and significantly improve function in an arthritic knee.
