Everyone wants inner peace.
That calm sense of “I’m okay. I’m safe. I’m enough.”
But most of us are stuck in a loop — of overthinking, people-pleasing, emotional reactivity, or chasing something that never really fills the gap.

I’ve seen this up close, in myself and in therapy.
We’re not fighting life.
We’re fighting our patterns — patterns born from old wounds, survival modes, and roles we didn’t choose but learned to perform.

Inner peace isn’t found in controlling the world around you.
It’s found when you stop being at war with yourself.

Psychologist Carl Rogers said,

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
That’s what inner peace is — not a perfect life, but a soft place inside you where your truth can rest.
It’s when you stop performing and start feeling.
It’s when you set a boundary and don’t shake with guilt after.
It’s when you sit in silence and it doesn’t scare you.

Therapy is where I see people get closer to that peace — not all at once, but gently, session by session.

If you feel like you’ve been circling the same emotional loop for years…
You’re not broken. You’re just tired.
And maybe it’s time to find another way.

Come up the stairs.
The Answer Room is open. 🌿

When was the last time you checked in with you?
🧠✨

We get so used to showing up for:
✅ Tasks
📩 Messages
📅 Deadlines
…that we forget to show up for ourselves.

Not your to-do list.
Not the world.
Just you.

Take a moment today to ask yourself:
🫶 How am I, really?
💭 What do I need right now?

Even a 2-minute pause can be a powerful act of self-care.
You deserve that moment.

Save this as your cue to come back to yourself.
🔁 Tag someone who needs this gentle nudge.

Why Self-Care Reminders Matter (and Why I Share Them) ✨

In the rush of daily life, we often forget to check in with ourselves. We push through exhaustion, silence our emotions, and prioritize everything but our well-being. That’s why self-care reminders are important—they serve as gentle nudges to pause, breathe, and take care of ourselves, even in the smallest ways. 💙

As a psychologist, I post reminders because self-care isn’t just a trend; it’s a necessity. Sometimes, all we need is a simple message to remind us that rest isn’t laziness, boundaries aren’t selfish, and our mental health matters just as much as our physical health. 🧘‍♀️💡 If even one reminder helps you slow down and be kinder to yourself, then it’s worth sharing. 💖

🔍 Do you push people away, even when you don’t want to?
Fear of intimacy isn’t just about relationships—it’s about the walls we build to protect ourselves. Psychologically, it often stems from past trauma, rejection, or deep-seated beliefs about love and vulnerability. This fear can show up as:

🔹 Leaving before you get hurt
🔹 Struggling to open up
🔹 Pushing people away
🔹 Avoiding emotional depth

These behaviors act as defense mechanisms, but they can also lead to loneliness and unfulfilled relationships. Recognizing these patterns is the first step toward healing.
Have you ever noticed these patterns in yourself or someone you know? Let’s talk about it in the comments. ⬇️

This was one of the first posts I made when I started out a few years ago.

I was super camera conscious—I still am—and we realised that the font of the text is extremely thin (Newbie blunders).

Someone wise once told me that you need to keep doing more of what you love, and in the process of executing the task you will realise what you did the best and how you could do something differently and make it even better.

POV: Don’t fear falling on your face or taking a risk because of the fear of falling—what’s the worst that will happen? (A question I always ask myself when I am fearful of a situation)
to more risks, more falls, and more gains.

Its time we wipe our lenses and clear our views and perspectives about mental health disorders.

This World Autism Awareness Day,
Lets be more mindful about what autism is and how can we work towards inclusion and betterment for someone with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder, meaning it is diagnosed in early childhood and prevails throughout an individuals life.

An individual of autism has a declined social skills, reppetative speech or behaviour.

Sensory processing (sound, texture, smells, etc) is often disrupted in A.S.D leading to a child being a sensory seeker or sensory sensitive.

Functioning for someone with Autism depends on when they were diagnosed, level or intensity of the disorder, rehabilitation facilities provided to them according to their needs, etc.
I would love to do a Q and A if that is something you would be interested in.
Please drop a comment for the same.

When I say that you aren’t define by your labels I am referring to the generic stigmatising labels which are forcefully imposed on an individual by friends, family members, or society.
These labels can look like
🌸 You are too tall/short
🌸 You don’t want to have kids
🌸 But you are divorced/single
🌸 You are so skinny
🌸 You always overthink everything

These are words people use for an individual without that individual being okay with it, if someone does that to you- I suggest you call them out.
You speak for what you are not okay with.
One thing I have realised as a person and a mental health professional is that people they will always have something to say about you- be it about the colour of your skin, your physique, your mental health, your beliefs, your value system, your sexual preferences, your gender, your choice of food.
You are defined by your choices and your preferences and not what the world expects out of you.

Be gentle with yourself and stand for what you believe in.

Love,
Sonal

On this Valentines Day, let's talk about love... It's a complex experience, one that science is baffled by even today.
Here's what some of you had to say when we asked you 'what does love mean to you?'
