The Eye & Organ Donation Awareness Programme, held on 4th September 2025 at SGT University by the Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with the National Eye Bank, AIIMS, proved to be an inspiring and impactful initiative. 🌸
The event was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, and Prof. Sarika Yadav, Associate Dean, & Dr. Pawan Kumar, HOD (Medical Surgical Nursing) whose support and encouragement added great value to the programme.
The day began with a warm welcome, traditional lamp lighting, and the felicitation of distinguished guests, followed by insightful sessions by Mrs. Kamlesh Saini (Sister in-Charge & Tranplant Coordinator (AIIMS) on the Eye Donation Process and Mr. Balram Organ Transplant Coordinator and medical Social Worker Officer in ORBO ( Organ Retrieval Banking Organisation), AIIMS on Organ and Tissue Retrieval. 👁️❤️
A powerful message echoed throughout the event:

SGT University Champions Drug-Free Future through Nasha Mukti Awareness Programme in Association with Indian Red Cross Society, District Gurugram
The Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, in association with the Red Cross Society, organized a Nasha Mukti (Drug De-addiction) Seminar with the objective of sensitizing youth and mobilizing collective action against substance abuse.
The programme was honored by the presence of distinguished dignitaries: Shri Ankush Miglani, Vice Chairman, IRCS, Haryana State Branch, Chandigarh; Shri Vikas Kumar, Secretary IRCS; Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma, Vice Chancellor, SGTU; Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Nasa, Pro Vice Chancellor, SGTU; Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, SGTU; and Mr. Jitin Sharma, District Training Officer, IRCS, Gurugram.

The event was meticulously coordinated and executed by Prof. Deepa Mukherjee, HOD, Community Health Nursing with faculty members of FNUR and supporting staff from SGT University. It commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Nicky Tyagi, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and a prayer song. Shri Ankush Miglani delivered an inspiring message to the students, urging them to become ambassadors of a drug-free society. He emphasized that youth are the nation’s strongest resource, and protecting them from the trap of substance abuse is essential for building a progressive future. Shri Miglani highlighted the importance of awareness, self-discipline, and peer support in combating drug addiction, reminding students that saying “No to Drugs” is saying “Yes to Life and Opportunity.” His words resonated strongly with the audience, encouraging them to pledge their commitment towards the vision of a drug-free Haryana.

The orther dignitaries also shared impactful insights reinforcing the urgent need for collective efforts against substance abuse. A special session by Dr. Ajay (Psychiatrist) provided an in-depth understanding of the medical, psychological, and social consequences of drug dependency.

To actively engage the youth, a student speech competition on the theme of drug de-addiction was organized. Students expressed their perspectives with passion, and winners were honored in a prize distribution ceremony.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the national anthem, affirming SGT University’s mission of fostering awareness and championing a healthier, drug-free future.

An educational visit to the Earth Saviour Foundation, Bandhwari Village, Gurugram, on 28th August 2025 organized by the Dashmesh College of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University

The visit highlighted the significance of community service and healthcare outreach in nursing education. As part of the program, GNM nursing students conducted health assessments of the residents and engaged the elderly in seated exercises and laughter activities, promoting both physical and emotional well-being. These activities not only helped in assessing their health status but also contributed to enhancing the overall quality of life of the residents.

The visit proved to be mutually beneficial—providing valuable learning experiences for the students and offering the elderly an opportunity to spend a joyful and enriching time.

The Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, Gurugram, in association with the Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Haryana State Branch, is proud to host the SNAI Biennial Conference, Sports and Cultural Meet – 2025 on 13th September 2025 at A Block Shooting Hall, SGT University.

Themed “Advancing Nursing Practice Through Innovation and Research”, the event aims to bring together nursing professionals, educators, and students to explore evidence-based practices, foster innovation, and strengthen leadership in nursing. The conference will feature scientific paper presentations, poster presentations, panel discussions, and extempore speeches, alongside a vibrant line-up of sports and cultural competitions including Dance, Mono-Act, Quiz, Essay Writing, Rangoli, Painting, and Athletics.

Day 5 Event Highlights
On 8th August 2025, the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Dashmesh College of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, organized an awareness programme as part of the Day 5 celebrations for World Breastfeeding Week 2025. The event, themed “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Creating Sustainable Support Systems”, was held at the Subdivisional Civil Hospital, Pataudi, Haryana.

The programme featured a powerful and engaging Nukkad Natak performed by nursing students, focusing on the significance of exclusive breastfeeding, early initiation, correct breastfeeding techniques, and dispelling common myths. The performance vividly depicted the emotional connection between mother and child, the importance of family support, and the lifelong health benefits breastfeeding offers to both mothers and infants.

Following the performance, B.Sc. Nursing students hosted a Diet Exhibition showcasing nutrient-rich foods for lactating mothers, balanced diet charts, and culturally relevant meal plans. Mothers actively participated by asking questions on breastfeeding and newborn care, reinforcing the message that breastfeeding is not just a mother’s responsibility but a shared societal duty to ensure a healthier future for generations to come.

A special token of appreciation was presented to Dr. Neeru Yadav (SMO, SDCH Pataudi) for her unwavering support, coordination, and dedication in making the event a success. Her contributions fostered a warm and collaborative atmosphere, ensuring the programme’s positive impact on the community.

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, Department of Child Health Nursing and Dashmesh College of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University organized an Awareness Programme on Day 4 of World Breastfeeding Week Celebration 2025 under the theme “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Creating Sustainable Support System”, at Civil Hospital on 7th August 2025.

As part of the event, a thought-provoking and engaging Nukkad Natak was presented by the nursing students. The performance aimed to raise awareness about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, early initiation, correct breastfeeding techniques, and addressing common myths surrounding breastfeeding practices. The play also beautifully portrayed the emotional bond between mother and child, the vital role of family support, and the long-term health benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and infants.

Following the role play, the mothers engaged actively by asking questions regarding breastfeeding practices and newborn care. It served as a strong reminder that breastfeeding is not solely a mother’s responsibility but a shared societal commitment toward securing a healthier future for the next generation.

World Breastfeeding Week 2025 | Day 2 Highlights
The Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Dashmesh College of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGTU successfully organized an Expert Talk on “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Creating Sustainable Support System” on 5/8/2025 – Day 2 of World Breastfeeding Week Celebration.

Prof. (Dr.) Lekha Bisht, Dean, School of Nursing, Galgotias University, delivered an insightful session emphasizing the need for supportive environments to promote breastfeeding.

Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Nasa, Pro Vice Chancellor, SGT University, graced the event as the Chief Guest. His presence added great value to the celebration.

The event also celebrated creativity and awareness through the Prize Distribution Ceremony for winners of the Rangoli and Poster Competitions held on Day 1 of the celebration, which was a beautiful showcase of talent and advocacy by our students.

The Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Dashmesh College of Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, are celebrating World Breastfeeding Week (04th–08th August 2025). The Day 1 of the celebration incudes a vibrant Poster and Rangoli Competition held on 4th August 2025 at 10:00 AM in Room No. 102 & 103, D-Block.
The event aimed to foster creativity and awareness among nursing students on the theme “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Creating Sustainable Support System.” A total of 22 students participated in the poster competition, while 21 showcased their artistic flair through Rangoli designs, highlighting the importance and benefits of breastfeeding.
The entries were evaluated by esteemed judges Mrs. Arti (Faculty, FNYS) and Mr. Sudhir (Faculty, FPHS), whose insightful observations and encouragement greatly motivated the participants.
The day concluded on a high note with enthusiastic participation, thoughtful messages, and a shared commitment to promoting breastfeeding awareness.
