Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO) is a medical eye emergency, when a branch of retinal vein becomes blocked. This spills blood and fluid out into the retina. The macula (main seeing part of the retina) can swell up from the fluid. This leads to sudden painless decrease of vision, distorted vision. This becomes worse over several hour to days. Sometimes you can lose all vision suddenly.
Eventually, without blood circulation, nerve cells in the eye can die and you can lose more vision.
Early diagnosis and Prompt medical treatment can often save vision in the eye .
