Dear devotes and well-wishers,
Namaste.

On 12th January, 2024 National Youth Day was conducted at Kankhal Sevashrama with great enthusiasm.

Around 250 students from 9 educational institutions participated in the event.

1) Participants on arrival were provided breakfast and tea.
2) Our monks and volunteers took the participants around the Sevashrama campus in order to acquaint them with the Sevashrama activities.
3) Dignitaries garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda
4) All participants were handed over one Swamiji’s poster, a pocket size book of Swamiji’s words, Swamiji’s pictorial biography and Swadesh mantra.

5) The stage program comprised of:
a) Vedic chanting
b) Cultural programs and yogasanas by school children
c) Prizes comprising Swami Vivekananda’s literature and articles were distributed to 60 winners.
d) Each teacher who participated was handed over a 2024 diary and calendar (published by the Hyderabad Math).
e) Swami Srimohanananda gave an overview about Ramakrishna Mission in general and Kankhal Sevashrama in particular.

6) Dignitaries who spoke on the occasion were:
a) Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Ji (former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former Education Minister of the Government of India, Member of Parliament Haridwar Lok Sabha)
b) Shri Mahendra Ji (Kshetra Pracharak Ji, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Western Uttar Pradesh Uttarakhand Region)
c) Dr. Meenu Singh Ji (Director AIIMS, Rishikesh)

7) Lunch Prasad was served to the participants.

Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kankhal centre conducted a winter relief on 17 December 2023.

The following winter clothes were distributed to the poor and needy people including some persons with leprosy in the slums beside Chandi hill in Haridwar.
