🎈 🎁 Happy 7th Year Birthday 🎂 to the largest peace of my heart 💓 my NOURRIR.

Every piece of you, over these 7 years, has been built with every spec of my heart & soul & has been a labour of so much purity of my love, care, time , nurturing & energy ✨ it still feels magical that we’ve had the privilege of touching the lives of so many clients so closely by helping them & supporting their healing to upgrade their own healths & eventually elevate their lives - which makes every bit of this journey so rewarding & worth it ✨

From starting off as a one woman show to slowly expanding to a team of 11.. 👯👯‍♀️

From offering only physical in-clinic 1 on 1 client appointments to now being able to serve a larger client base from all across the globe by going “work from anywhere in the world” 🌍..

From being solely focused on offering the service of 1 on 1 client appointments to now expanding my role to a writer, researcher, advisor & lecturer ✍️ 👩🏻‍💻

From only ever dreaming of attending health conferences & interacting with my favourite doctors & idols in the space of health from across the globe - to actually living that dream now 👨🏻‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

It’s been a beautiful journey of a lot of learning, unlearning, re-learning & Growth- all of this- without having compromised the quality of service & interaction that Nourrir provides to each & every client that our paths cross with - this is what I’m celebrating this year! 🌟 🎉

I can’t believe I get to this beautiful work of service & meaning, every single day of my life. Grateful & counting my blessings to be able to call this my “work” 🧿✨

Yesterday we shared a story of our annual blood test & received many questions in our Dms.
The protocols we provide our clients are extremely detailed & specific to their bodies requirements-but here are a few basic general tips that can help almost all of us -

1.when to test ?
For most clients we recommend testing once a year. But if you have a specific on going health condition you’re monitoring or a known nutritional deficiency you’re correcting I would recommend a test every 6-8 months.

2.fasting protocol- ensure you’re following correct guidelines related to fasting pre-test because not doing so can lead to skewed results. Ask your health care provider AS well as the lab you’re testing from for their recommendations.

3.hormonal testing- specially for women- ensure you’re testing at the correct DAY in your cycle. For eg a progesterone test should be at day 21 (of a 28 day cycle)/ 5-7 days post ovulation - whereas tests like LH FSH are better done on day 2/3 of period. Also timing matters - for eg if you’re testing prolactin make sure you’re rested at least 20 minutes before testing. & test 3 hours post waking without having done any strenuous activity. These are very very basic examples- many more such specifications apply which we must consider.
(Also the most accurate test I’ve found is a Dutch test which is unfortunately not available in India widely. If this option is available to you, consider this for hormones & for cortisol levels too)

4.if you’re on any supplements/ prescription medication- ask your dr to check if they need to be stopped few days before the test.

5.most test packages offered by labs miss a few key tests that we ask our clients to add on like magnesium, calcium, ferritin, hs-crp, esr etc - which can be helpful to create a supplement protocol specific to your bodies needs. I always recommend you never self supplement without proper blood work.

6.2 of the most imp tests in my opinion are b12 &d3 where we see maximum clients deficient-& deficiency in these 2 cause a cascade of other issues in our body.

7.make sure after the test you replenish well. Have electrolytes in the form of neembu paani with salt & sugar or coconut water along with a fruit/ dates & some nuts immediately.

8.lastly- always show your reports to a DOCTOR. Because they’re the ones trained to read a blood test better than any other professional & can read between the lines & catch patterns & guide you with precision.

As a final thought - prevention is better than cure & KNOWING what’s happening in your body is a superpower because this awareness can help you understand its needs! So make sure you test yourself 🤍

I’ve been thinking a lot about this recently as I restarted taking personal client appointments.

What I’ve come to realise is that there are certain times in life where we can go all out & make our health & body goals our number one priority- which is ideal case scenario for someone who’s been trying to lose weight/ gain weight/ heal their health for a while.

BUT then there are other phases in one’s life where they could still work on their health & body goals but in a more gentler manner - where they can’t commit as much time & attention & energy to it or go all out or as aggressive as they like. THIS IS WHEN YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EXTREMELY KIND & gentle with yourself. Many times I’ve seen clients start blaming themselves for not being disciplined & they’re self talk starts coming from a place of hatred for their bodies rather than a place of love.

So if you’re someone who’s starting out on your journey- I would HIGHLY suggest taking a few minutes & sitting with yourself & deciding WHERE YOU’RE AT - at that point in life.

& from there- when you begin, you will take a more aligned, gentle approach & it will come from LOVE. Because remember, we cannot heal a body we hate 🫶🏼🤍

Whenever someone asks me about the approach to diet/ lifestyle/ nutrition in general I take with my clients - this is my answer.

My approach is extremely GENTLE.

In a world filled with 21 day fitness challenges & timelines put on our bodies to either lose weight as fast as possible or to reverse a disease or heal asap - my approach is completely the opposite.

I believe in first communicating in depth with my client at a soul level - to fully understand where they’re at in their lives at that point in time. We mutually decide on a gentle nutrition & movement approach that SUITS their current lifestyle in terms of work, stress levels & other priorities they may have. This approach is so aligned with their lives that it becomes easy, effortless & slowly almost second nature to them.

& what makes it sustainable in the long run is that they get addicted to FEELING their best & looking their best - which makes following this gentle protocol forever - naturally a part of who they are 🤍

Being GENTLE is where all the magic lies🪄 if you ask me! & that’s what gives their bodies a chance to heal itself- slowly & gently but forever 🩵

Every single day when you add any form of movement into your day , change your mindset from “I have to exercise/ workout” to “I GET TO MOVE MY BODY TODAY” - I mean what a celebration that is of how lucky we are if we get to do that. A fully functioning injury & disease- free body is the greatest blessing in the world in my opinion & we should be so grateful for it & celebrate this gift often! 🤍

All these years, our focus as a society has been to be the tiniest, SMALLEST possible versions of ourselves - from major studies that had a hyper focus on calorie counting to macros to carbs to excessive cardio - “skinny & thin” was the main message.

But it makes me so happy to now finally see a major revolutionary shift in gears with all this beautiful new research emerging on LONGEVITY, AGING & improving HEALTH SPAN.

Lately I’ve been diving deep into all the latest research papers on how we need to focus on improving strength bio markers, inflammation, maintaining muscle etc.

Although there’s much more to come in this space as the science evolves, but for now this paradigm shift also creates a shift in our mindset from “SKINNY” to “STRONG” & this is truly something that will propel us in the direction of true LONG TERM SUSTAINABLE health in my opinion - which has always been our main focus & message at Nourrir since day one🖤
