Why is it hard to start a new habit, even when it’s crucial?

It’s all about the habit loop: Cue, Routine, Reward.

Example: I want to read daily. I place a book on my desk—Cue.

Seeing it prompts me to read—Routine.

But without a reward, it’s tough to sustain.

So, after 10 minutes of reading,

I say, “Well done, Vinayan!”—Reward.

We First Make Our Habits and Then Our Habits Make Us.
