ng from IIT Mumbai in the year 1991 but her curiosity to understand the meaning of life - body, mind and spirit and her love for all things beautiful led her to the fields of Beauty, Fitness, Yoga, Meditation, Nutrition and Wellness
She taught yoga and meditation to a group of women from various countries when living abroad in Africa with her husband Vikas Rana. Vikas initiated her into meditation back then in 1998 and has been constant source of inspiration, her friend philosopher and guide. Over the years of practicing and teaching there and based on the positive feedback and encouragement received from her clients and friends, she realized Yoga to be her calling and decided to take it further by exploring its various forms. She is an ERYT500 Yoga Alliance USA credentialed teacher and the owner and founder of Samsara The Yoga Studio (RYS 200) which is located in Pune India. I completed my RYT200 and RYT300 courses under the guidance of Yoga Teacher Neel Kulkarni of Saee Tech, The Authentic Yoga School, USA. He is a master in Asanas, Sanskrit language, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Philosophy and has many books to his credit for which he received an Honorary Doctorate from the Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage. His book “Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – A Proper Translation and Chanting” is an invaluable guide and reading material for yoga philosophy courses. Shama did her Yoga Teacher's Training Certification with The Yoga Light Studios of Ajay Naik. and gained experience in teaching yoga. To help her clients deal with their health issues gaining knowledge in Yoga Therapy was essential. She has a certification in Rope and Belt Yoga Therapy from Gnosis Medical Yoga, Unnati Yogatherapy Centre, Pune. It helped her take her passion for yoga to the next level. Training in Yoga Therapy under the guidance of Dr. Vineeta Ketkar who has worked with the pioneers in this field like Yogacharya Shri BKS Iyengar, Padmashree Dr S. Karandikar (founder Kabir Baug Yogatherapy) helped her gain a deeper understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body, the root causes of the diseases and the why and how of the various yoga therapy techniques. She is also obtained a certification in Fitness and from Abhimanyu Sable’s ABS Fitness and Wellness Club, Pune in 2004 and gained insights into Club Management. Earlier in the year 1992, she studied Beauty Therapy and Hair Dressing, Electrolysis from Shaman College of Beauty by Sushila Vaswani, a prominent name then in the field of beauty. She is passionate about hair cutting and styling having trained in advanced haircuts and coloring from Jasbir Arora. She also is a Life Coach, trained in Biofeedback methods and Muscle Testing from Ajna Learning Centre, Pune. Her ill heath a few years ago and curiosity to find a solution to her problems led her to the field of Nutritional Medicine - gaining in depth understanding about nutrition, vitamin, mineral deficiencies and the physiology of disease and various detoxification and nutrition therapies to heal the body. She has a Fellowship in Nutritional Medicine and Environmental Medicine (FINEM) from Indian Nutritional Medical Association. About Co-Founder: Vikas Rana
Vikas is a Spiritual Teacher and Life Coach based in Pune, India. He studied at IIT Mumbai and thereafter had a corporate career in Project Management, initially in Water and then in Oil and Gas, in the Middle East and Africa. His Inner Journey began quite early and intensified when he struggled, like many people, to respond adequately to the challenges that work and family life threw up. Soon after, the ‘inner’ took center stage and everything else appeared to form the setting. Over the years, he has researched and experimented extensively, with a lot of trial and error, on the subjects of Consciousness, Mind, Body, Thinking – the Compulsive and the Conscious kinds, Emotions, Psychology, Indian Philosophies, Spirituality and Wellness. His understanding of meditation and self-awareness stems from a lifelong exposure and over 25 years of relentless, intensive personal practice of various meditation techniques, the various deeper experiences and insights gained because of the practices, and extensive reading and teaching on related subjects. He had an early exposure to meditation at the age of nine, when his father began taking him along to a meditation center, which he visited regularly. Later, while schooling in Pune in India, he came across some discourse tapes of Osho, whose audacious yet lucid explanations of concepts like Meditation, Intelligence, Happiness and Religion whetted his appetite to explore the subjects more deeply. His inner journey has been greatly helped by his extensive reading of the works of eminent thinkers and Spiritual Gurus world-wide including Osho, J Krishnamurthy, Ramana Maharshi, Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Alfred Adler, Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud, Thomas Harris, Albert Ellis, Bertrand Russell, Alan Watts, Rupert Spira, Francis Lucille, Steven Pinker, Stephen Covey, Edward DeBono, Yuval Noah Harari, Jordan Peterson, Daniel Kahneman, Nassim Taleb and many others. Vikas conducts several 3-month training programs like ‘Meditation and Mind Training’, ‘The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali’, ‘The Essence of The Bhagawad Gita and The Upanishads’ and ‘The Ashtavakra Gita’. He also teaches Indian Philosophy to practicing and aspiring Yoga Teachers at Samsara The Yoga Studio, with an emphasis on its application in life for inner transformation and transcendence. He also mentors and coaches individuals, couples and groups to help align their quest for worldly attainment with inner harmony, improving relationships, managing conflicts and enhancing life satisfaction.
