Many people wonder what causes bloating and whether IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is “all in the mind.” In reality, bloating is most often due to gas formation – from fermented foods, swallowed air, or anxiety-related habits – and sometimes from undigested food or liquid stasis in the intestines. IBS is not just a psychological issue, but a psychosomatic condition, where the mind and body both play a role. Stress, fear, and constant worry can worsen IBS, while calming the mind can significantly ease symptoms. 🧠💡 Diet and lifestyle choices also play a huge role – processed foods, irregular eating habits, excess coffee, alcohol, and modern food fads can overload the stomach, disrupting natural digestion. 🍔🥤 Maintaining healthy eating patterns, sticking to local foods your body is used to, and reducing stress are essential to managing IBS effectively.

🌸 After delivery, many new mothers worry about hormones, periods, lactation, thyroid, and recovery. But do you really need a hormone test right after childbirth? In most cases, it’s not necessary unless there are unusual symptoms like heavy weight gain, mood changes, thyroid issues, or abnormal bleeding. Missing periods for a few months while breastfeeding is completely normal. Good nutrition, mental health, and postpartum care play a major role in recovery. Lactation support, timely thyroid checks, contraception advice, and gradual return to normal physical activity are essential. Remember, not every postpartum problem means a hormone imbalance; sometimes, simple counselling, lifestyle changes, or medical follow-up is all you need. 💙

Post-surgery and postpartum recovery no longer come with strict dietary restrictions like in the past. Today, doctors advise new mothers to eat a balanced, nutritious diet instead of avoiding specific foods. The focus should be on preventing obesity, as the postpartum period increases the risk due to abdominal laxity after pregnancy. Avoiding junk food and excess calories is key. Using abdominal binders and starting safe exercises early, whether after a normal or C-section delivery, helps mothers regain their physique and prevent obesity-related health risks. Good nutrition is equally important for stamina and for providing high-quality breast milk to the baby. A balanced intake of proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats ensures the well-being of both mother and child.

Confused between IBS and IBD? You’re not alone! Many people mix them up, but they are completely different conditions. IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is a functional disorder with symptoms like bloating, erratic bowel movements, and mucus, while IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) is a serious autoimmune condition that includes Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, causing inflammation, ulcers, strictures, and fistulas. Both may look similar, but the causes, severity, and treatments are very different. 🚑 If you notice bleeding, weight loss, fever, or loss of appetite along with bowel issues, it could be IBD and needs proper medical attention. Remember—IBS will not turn into IBD, but people can have both, and sometimes even after IBD is treated, IBS-like symptoms can remain. Watch this video to finally clear the confusion and understand when to take it seriously!
