Saw a sudden bright red patch in the white of your eye?
It’s often a subconjunctival haemorrhage — looks dramatic, but usually harmless and heals on its own in 10–14 days (like a bruise fading).
Common triggers: coughing/sneezing, heavy lifting/straining, high BP, blood thinners, rubbing the eye, minor injury — or sometimes no clear reason.
What to do: check BP, avoid rubbing, and review medicines if needed.
If there’s pain, vision drop, injury, or repeat episodes, get it checked.
