Honoured to present and showcase my research paper โAssociation of Gluteal Amnesia with the Incidence of Lower Back and Lower Limb Injuries in Marathon Runnersโ at the Sports Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Conference.
This study emerged from extensive on-field screening and clinical evaluation of marathon runners participating at local, state, national, and international levels. The findings highlighted the critical role of gluteal muscle activation, neuromuscular control, and movement efficiency in preventing overuse injuries and optimizing running performance.
The interaction with fellow researchers, clinicians, and academicians led to meaningful discussions on:
โข Injury prevention strategies in endurance athletes
โข Importance of early screening for gluteal dysfunction
โข Translating research evidence into clinical sports rehabilitation practice
Moments like these reaffirm my belief that research, teaching, and clinical practice must move hand-in-hand to advance evidence-based physiotherapy and athlete care.
Grateful to the organizing committee, mentors, colleagues, and my students who continuously inspire me to explore, research, and contribute to the physiotherapy fraternity. institute of physiotherapy MIPT Sport Physiocon 26
