✨ A New Beginning with a New Kidney ✨

One of our recently operated Kidney Transplant patients is going home today with a big smile 😊 and a well-functioning graft kidney.

This journey was extra special — her mother lovingly donated her kidney to gift her daughter a healthy life again. ❤️

Her father, who is also a doctor, stood strong throughout and wanted to capture these memorable moments with our team.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do — to give patients and their families hope, health, and happiness.

Wishing her a joyful, healthy, and fulfilling life ahead! 🌸🙏

🩺 National Doctor’s Day – Honouring Healers of Humanity 🇮🇳
Date: 1st July

Today, we celebrate National Doctor’s Day in India — a day dedicated to appreciating the tireless efforts and noble service of doctors across the nation.

🩷 Why July 1st?
This day marks the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a legendary physician, freedom fighter, and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.
His contributions to both the medical field and public service remain unmatched.
He was also awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.

🌟 Why This Day Matters:
Doctors are not just medical experts — they are caregivers, decision-makers, and lifelines. Whether in emergency rooms or in quiet consultations, their role is vital to every family and every community.

🧑‍⚕️ As a Urologist, I feel privileged to serve and restore the health and dignity of my patients. Every relieved symptom and every smile makes the journey worthwhile.

🤝 What Can We Do as a Society?
✔ Respect doctors and medical staff
✔ Support ethical medical practices
✔ Promote preventive health awareness
✔ Avoid violence against healthcare workers
✔ Trust science and health education

Let’s take a moment today to say thank you — to the doctors who care, heal, and serve selflessly.

🙏

⚠️ Testicular Torsion – A Surgical Emergency That Can't Wait! ⚠️

Yesterday morning, a 13-year-old boy was rushed to the Emergency Department with sudden, severe pain in the right side of his sc***um, lasting for just 30 minutes.

On examination, I diagnosed Right Testicular Torsion – a true urological emergency. Blood flow to the te**is was absent, indicating the critical need for immediate intervention.
He was taken straight to the operating room, and thanks to prompt action and early arrival, we were able to save the te**is.

What is Testicular Torsion?

Testicular torsion occurs when the spermatic cord twists, cutting off blood supply to the te**is.
If not treated within 4–6 hours, the te**is can suffer permanent damage or may need to be removed.

How does it present?
Sudden, severe scrotal pain
Swelling of the sc***um
Nausea or vomiting
Often no history of trauma

What is the treatment?
Emergency surgery (Detorsion & Orchidopexy) is done to untwist the cord and fix both te**es to prevent recurrence.
Time is Te**is! Every minute counts.

Key Message:
Parents and adolescents should never ignore sudden scrotal pain. Immediate consultation can make the difference between saving and losing a te**is.

Let’s spread awareness — early action saves lives and organs!

🌍 World Kidney Day: Take Care of Your Kidneys!

On this World Kidney Day, let's spread awareness about kidney health and the challenges we face in India regarding kidney disease.

🔹 What Do Kidneys Do?

Your kidneys are like natural filters for your body. They:
✅ Remove waste and extra water from the blood (urine formation).
✅ Help control blood pressure.
✅ Keep the right balance of minerals like sodium, potassium, and calcium.
✅ Produce hormones that help make red blood cells.

🚨 5 Common Causes of Kidney Failure

1️⃣ Diabetes (High Blood Sugar) – Uncontrolled diabetes damages kidneys over time.
2️⃣ High Blood Pressure – Extra pressure on kidney blood vessels can lead to damage.
3️⃣ Kidney Infections & Stones – Repeated infections or untreated kidney stones can reduce kidney function.
4️⃣ Painkillers & Unsupervised Medicines – Overuse of common painkillers (NSAIDs) or some herbal medicines can harm your kidneys.
5️⃣ Family History & Genetic Diseases – Some kidney diseases run in families, like polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

📊 The Reality of Kidney Disease in India

🚑 17 out of every 100 Indians have some form of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
💉 1.75 lakh+ people are on dialysis, and this number is rising by 10-15% every year.
🫘 Kidney transplants save lives, but organ donation is still very low in India. Many patients wait for years for a donor.

💡 Why a Kidney Transplant is Better than Long-Term Dialysis?

✔️ Better Quality of Life – No more frequent hospital visits for dialysis.
✔️ Longer Life Expectancy – A transplanted kidney works much better than dialysis.
✔️ Less Costly in the Long Run – Dialysis is expensive over time, while a transplant is a one-time procedure.

🚀 The Need for More Awareness on Kidney Transplants

We need to:
🔹 Spread awareness about organ donation to save more lives.
🔹 Encourage live & cadaver kidney donation.
🔹 Make kidney care and transplants more accessible to everyone.

💚 5 Simple Ways to Keep Your Kidneys Healthy

🥦 Eat healthy food and avoid too much salt.
💧 Drink enough water every day.
💊 Control diabetes & blood pressure with a healthy lifestyle.
🚫 Avoid excessive painkillers & self-medication.
🏃‍♂️ Stay active & exercise regularly.

This World Kidney Day, let’s take a step towards better kidney health and support organ donation to save lives!
