❄️ Winter Season & Sore Throat (Pharyngitis) — What You Should Know! 🔍
As the winter chill sets in, many people start experiencing sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and irritation in the throat.
These are common signs of Pharyngitis, an inflammation of the throat that becomes especially frequent during colder months.
🔹 Why Does Pharyngitis Increase in Winter?
❄️ Cold, dry air irritates the throat lining
🤧 Viral infections spread faster in close indoor spaces
🔥 Sudden temperature changes (warm room → cold outdoor air)
🍵 Low water intake leading to dryness
🦠 Weaker immunity during winter
🔹 Common Symptoms
✔️ Sore throat
✔️ Pain while swallowing
✔️ Fever / body ache
✔️ Dryness or scratchy sensation
✔️ Enlarged neck glands
✔️ Cough and cold (in viral cases)
🔹 When to Be Cautious?
Seek an ENT consultation if you notice:
⚠️ Severe throat pain
⚠️ High fever
⚠️ White patches on tonsils
⚠️ Difficulty breathing
⚠️ Symptoms lasting more than 3 days
🔹 Simple Home Care Tips
🍯 Warm water, honey, and steam inhalation
