Have you ever noticed this?
Some people enter a room…
and suddenly you feel calm, safe, and relaxed.
And some people…
within minutes your body feels heavy, anxious, or drained.
This is not imagination.
And it’s not about attitude either.
Your nervous system is constantly scanning for safety.
Before your mind analyzes words…
your body already reads:
• tone of voice
• micro expressions
• energy in the room
• emotional safety
Within seconds your nervous system decides:
“Safe… or Protect.”
That’s why certain people feel like peace,
even when they say nothing.
And others feel exhausting
even in small conversations.
But here’s the deeper reflection most people miss…
We often ask:
“Who makes me feel safe?”
But a more powerful question is:
Does my presence make others feel safe?
Because emotional safety is the foundation of every healthy relationship
in marriage, friendship, parenting, leadership… and even healing.
When someone feels safe with you,
their nervous system relaxes…
their real self comes forward.
And that’s where real connection begins.
