π Cornea is the clear, dome-shaped outermost layer of the eye, and it's responsible for protecting the eye and helping to focus light on the retina. Unlike other parts of the eye, the cornea doesn't have any blood vessels. Instead, it gets its nourishment and oxygen directly from tears on the outside and the aqueous humor (a clear, watery fluid) on the inside. This unique feature is essential because blood vessels in the cornea could obstruct vision by making it less transparent. So, the cornea's lack of blood vessels is an important part of what makes our eyes work properly!
