On July 12th, I had the privilege of attending the Meril Hip Masters Course, where senior hip surgeons from across India and abroad came together to share their insights, approaches, and philosophies on hip arthroplasty.

But what made this academic experience even more special was sitting beside my father — my guru, Dr. Bharat Mody, who has not only shaped me as an orthopaedic surgeon but continues to guide me with his quiet strength and unwavering wisdom.

In a world of ever-evolving technology, surgical precision, and complex protocols, I’m reminded that our greatest lessons often come from those who have walked the path before us — not just in knowledge, but in character and discipline.

Grateful for this moment that blended learning, legacy, and the essence of the Guru-Shishya Parampara.

"100 Knees, 100 Smiles - My Journey from Learner to Surgeon"

One year ago, I stood in the operating room, feeling the weight of responsibility that comes with wielding a scalpel. The confidence wasn’t instant—it had to be earned, case by case, lesson by lesson. Today, as I complete my first 100 independent Total Knee Replacements, I can’t help but reflect on the journey that has shaped me into the surgeon I am becoming.

Orthopaedics has been in my blood, but stepping into surgery on my own was a different ballgame. There were moments of doubt, moments where I second-guessed every move, moments where the sheer complexity of the human knee felt overwhelming. But in those moments, I had two guiding forces by my side—my father, Dr. Bharat Mody & my brother, Dr. Ksh*tij Mody. Their wisdom, their patience, and their unwavering belief in me became my strongest pillars of support.

Each surgery I performed was not just about replacing a knee; it was about restoring a life—giving back mobility, freedom, and happiness to my patients. The smiles I see post-surgery, the first confident steps they take, the gratitude in their eyes—this is Why I do - What I do.

From a young surgeon finding his feet to now confidently leading the operating room, this journey has been nothing short of incredible, and this is just the beginning!

To all my mentors, my patients who trusted me, my team who stood by me—Thank You for being a part of my first 100! Here’s to the next 100, & beyond. 🚀
