प्री-सेप्टल सेल्युलाइटिस
आंख की पलकों का संक्रमण है जहां मेबोमियन ग्रंथि से संक्रमण बढ़ जाता है और आसपास के पलकों के ऊतकों में फैल जाता है जिससे दर्दनाक सूजन हो जाती है जो कभी-कभी निर्वहन और पस बिंदु मे बदल जाती है।
उपचार में प्रणालीगत एंटीबायोटिक्स शामिल हैं, यदि संक्रमण गंभीर है तो IV एंटीबायोटिक दवाओं की आवश्यकता हो सकती है।
कभी-कभी मवाद की निकासी की भी आवश्यकता होती है|
संक्रमण में और वृद्धि से कक्षीय संक्रमण और मेनिन्जाइटिस भी हो जाता है। सही और समय पर उपचार के साथ बार-बार फॉलो-अप की आवश्यकता होती है।

Preseptal cellulitis
Is an infection of eye lid where infection from mebomian glands increases and spreads to surrounding lid tissue causing painful lid swelling sometimes associated with discharge and pus point.
Treatment includes systemic antibiotics, may need iv antibiotics if infection is severe.
Sometimes pus drainage is also required.
Further increase in infection leads to orbital infection and even meningitis.
Frequent follow-up is needed with right and timely treatment.
