Apex College of Physiotherapy - Varanasi
successfully conducted a Two-Day Hands-On Workshop on “Basic Critical Care and Physiotherapy Management in ICU” from 7th to 8th February 2026 at its campus. The workshop aimed to enhance practical knowledge and clinical skills of students and professionals in the field of critical care physiotherapy.
The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Rajeev Dubey, Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, IMS-BHU. The event was further graced by Prof. Dr. S. K. Singh, Chairman, Apex Hospital & PGI, and Dr. Swaroop Patel, Director, Apex Hospital & PGI, who encouraged students and faculty members to continuously upgrade their clinical competencies.
The scientific sessions were initiated by Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Emergency and Critical Care Specialist, Apex Hospital, Varanasi, followed by Dr. Surbhi Arya, Assistant Professor, Apex College of Physiotherapy. The resource person, Dr. Shivam Srivastava, Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapist, KGMU, Lucknow, led the hands-on sessions across both days and provided in-depth practical training in ICU physiotherapy management.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 130 delegates from various parts of India, including students, interns, and practicing physiotherapists. The sessions were highly interactive and focused on evidence-based ICU assessment, monitoring, and physiotherapeutic interventions.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Dr. S. K. Singh congratulated the organizing committee, Principal Dr. Puneet Jaiswal, Vice-Principal Dr. Saurabh Anand, and faculty members of Apex College of Physiotherapy for the successful planning and ex*****on of the programme.
The workshop concluded on a positive note, reaffirming Apex College of Physiotherapy’s commitment towards excellence in academic training, clinical skill development, and quality healthcare education.
