Devvrat Yoga Sangha

Devvrat Yoga Sangha We spread our knowledge and experience of Yoga in our Yoga Teacher Trainings and Yoga Retreats in Va We are one of those schools.

As the popularity of postural (but also non-postural) Yoga has been increasing on a rather unprecedented scale, the number of Yoga schools and Yoga teacher trainings and workshops has been constantly rising. But apart from teaching the regular curriculum of Philosophy, Anatomy, and Art of Teaching, we wish to help our students understand their individual understanding of Yoga and its presence in their lives. It is our aim to create a Community of Yoga practitioners with raised awareness. So in our Yoga Teacher Trainings in Kerala, India, we engage in discussions and ask questions that perhaps go beyond a regular Yoga course in India. As we teach Yoga Philosophy, we share the knowledge of the great Yogis of the past encouraging the students to question and find their own understanding of their path of Yoga in the contemporary world. Our own paths have taken us from different cultural, family and educational backgrounds to Yoga and Yoga teaching. Since we have experienced the influence of Yoga on the way we perceive the world and how we live, we now wish to share that experience and knowledge with others in the hope to assist them in the practice of Yoga which raises self-awareness and inspires us all to live our lives with awareness as good human beings.

In the ripples of the mind
our thoughts are conditioned to judge any and every sense that comes into our human receptors.

Automatically, in less than an instance, these impressions are classified in a mechanical manner as “good” or “bad”, “likes” or “dislikes”.

Without awareness, we inevitably identify ourselves with these judgements, creating resistance or attachment to the actual experiences that live through us.

This is the root cause of suffering.

The spiritual paths teach us to become conscious of these identifications, and tell us to “observe” them. Simple…

But this is only the beginning…. a very common and important “trap” here, is that becoming aware of our likes or dislikes, can turn into a meta-identification. We begin to judge the judgement itself.

This is what we call dissociation. You are no longer observing your judgements; you are again judging your own judging. This loop of identification and dissociation can go on and on and on… and on.

Until you integrate and dissolve it all at the same time, with a simple, yet subtle perspective. Pure observation, without judgement, but truly knowing you are the ocean in which these ripples of endless likes and dislikes arise.

Only through understanding will we see the totality of situations and actions, and uninevitably forgive from clarity.
